Nowt too serious really. More trouble from the farmer and the police though. His dry stone wall decided to lean on the side of my motor. So now the police want to know why I didnt report the incident to them at the time. They want to charge me for not stopping at the scene of an accident, not reporting an accident and driving inconsiderately. The farmer took my reg and said see you in court. I offered to help with the stones I had knocked over, to which he replied see you in court. Now I seem to have an anti 4x4 bobby on my case. Spose I should seek legal advice on this one. Marvelous.

WHich lane was it that you had these problems on Dadba? I'd like to pass it on to the local GLASS rep so he is aware theres a problem in that area.

I will try to find out exact location (grid ref) but according to the police form, its moor lane, uppertown, derbyshire. Dry stone walls either side with small trees. The part that caused me a problem was where the wall kinked inwards with a tree opposite. The three navaras got through (just) but my tyres caught hold of the bottom of the wall which then brought part of the wall down onto my car. The farmer was already threatening us with prosecution before this and took all our reg numbers and then said see you in court.
We all offered to help repair the damage caused but he just kept saying see you in court and didnt want to know. We left the scene realising we maybe prosecuted for the damage caused but the police are saying we left the scene of an accident without reporting it and that we were driving inconsiderately. Nobody was hurt and the damage caused was witnessed by the farmer (owner of wall). I would offer to chip in towards the cost of repair to the wall but so far I havent been given the opportunity to do so. The plod have said they have had alot of problems with 4x4's in that very area.

sounds to me like they might use you as a scapegoat to try and make a point :( and try and make a mountain out of a molehill.is a dry stone wall which you offered to repair really worth all the aggravation of court cases, fines and stress.why can't people just live and let live :!:

Its the bit under Bromlea farm and above Horsedale farm if Im not mistaken. :|

Its the bit where the flag is

out of curiosity i would be tempted to get a proper statement exactly how wide the road should be there and to whom the tree belongs if the tree is in the road its causing an unlawful obstruction and you or the Police fir that matter should be Prosecuting the council(or the trees owner) for causing an obstruction

if the roads too narrow btw and he owns both fields as many do i would counter sue the farmer for the cost of the repairs to the car, sounds to me like the foundations of the wall were slipping into the road thats his fault pure and simple
