Does anyone have first hand experiance with maxxis tyres either the creepy crawler or the mudzilla.

From what I've seen a lot of people that have muzillas tend to end up selling them, then you get the odd person that loves them. Not much put there in reviews, but seems very split. I wonder because of the construction people that hate them are running too high a pressure.

Any thoughts?

Never ran either but the mudzilla is a directional tyre which could be why folk ain't so keen on them :nenau

Heard reasonable things about the bighorn 764 mt

Yeah thats a good all round tyre by all acounts, slightly more aggressive than your stt's but I've never run them.

Ideally what I would want is a 35x14.50x16 or 15 but thats not available.

The mudzilla in a 37 is about 35.5 in size which is why Im thinking of it but would prefer the creepy's

Deamo, if you read this, from the pics you posted on my other thread of the 2.8 in oz, it was running mudzilla, can you remember how they got on?

When I went to JCS in Derby to get my 10J steels for my STT's I saw a Mudzilla 37" blown up and it was like a motorbike tyre

Only the centre 1/3 of the tyre was in contact with the floor

Sounds like they are over inflated if you ask me.

general consensus in the winch challenge world maxxis trepador is pretty much the best tyre at the moment. They come in two different compounds, one is much softer known at 'stickies' but wear quick (offroad only) the other is a harder compound but not sure how well they wear with mixed use offroad/road.

If I was to buy new and had the cash I'd get a set of them.

Yeah thats my point, they are bias tyres, or crossply, I think the americans say bias we say cross ply but correct me if im wrong but anyway radial tyres will have a max pressure of something silly whereas these will have a max pressure of 30 psi or something. you can run them with only 5 psi off road and are strong enough to hold the weight of the truck.

Wish I could buy a second hand set to see how the truck runs on them
