I need to get a spare key cut for maverick . . .

the current key is too wore to copy and cut, so do i need to get a ode? i have done similar with my Mondeo previously . . .

also anywhere to get the genuine for keys for the maverick (1997) i bought one before and lost it before i got it cut and have struggled to find one since.

thanks . . .

I have no idea, but sooner or later someone will! :thumb2

A ford dealer should be able to back track from the chassis number, if the key/lock has not been replaced.

Worth a try.
best regards, Rustic

ha ha somethin i know

:thumbs right if ford cannot help the code is on the locks but you have to take the off your ignition barrel is the best one that has full code on but if your key is worn so r ya tumblers inside ya lock which match your worn key do you use central locking ? if so you ignition will be more worn , just ask the key cutter to go easy on the copy one :thumbs

I have got a local key cutter (global locks) to do this fo me on a ford key and they have been very sympathetic to worn locks, even resorted to picks in the barell and recutting and all for £15!

i would look for one the manuals thats been posted on here,im sure youll be able to do it if u still have one the orignal keys, transits have simlair system called pats and you put one your keys in turn on for x amount secs then off on again insert new un coded key turn on blah blah so i would think/hope nissan will be simlair!

thanks for that lads,

but i'm on about the chip in the key for the immobiliser rather than for the remote locking

i think the chip in the immobiliser needs to be coded by someone who has the right software, a lot of key cutters do call round a few and ask :thumb2

just an update, the cut keys open the doors anyway, haven't tried the ignition as i haven't got around to coding them, i'll get there . . . . that and the never ending draining battery saga . .

cheers.
