Hi guys a mate of mine has been given a maverick 2.7td but it has a few issues that need sorting

It won't rev past 3000 rpm even when on idle
The brake pedal sinks to the floor
The rad has been changed and the the top rad inlet goes to the right hand side of thermostat and the bottom hose goes into the left hand side of the thermostat
Has an electrical drain !

The drive train and engine seem sweet as well as the body and chassis

But me thinks he needs a new rad to start with or rework the hose

But what would the no revving past 3k be ?

It has no maf so I'm not sure where to start

Mine is a tdi so slightly different

Any help would be great guys

Sounds as if someones put petrol rad in as they are opposite way round to diesel.1st job check mini filter in banjo

Brake pedal check for leaks and also make sure theres no air in system otherwise will be master cylinder

Ok so if the rad is the wrong way round and connected as it is is it a problem ?

I will check the mini filter too

It the rad that's concerning him the most
 
Re electrical drain, it could be the diodes in the alternator that have failed.
Try disconnecting the alternator plug and monitor the drain.

my 96n maverick had a problem with the brakes i found oil in the servo due to a knackered non return valve on the vac pump on the altinator...hope that helps...
