Malfunction light

A friend of mine has a Terrano 2.7tdi (R reg) and he says his engine management light comes on when he puts his foot down. When he does this the power is flat but sometimes on the odd occassion the power seems to surge without much effort. Has anybody experienced the same or similar problem and found a solution :?: I have told him of this site but he doesnt have access to a pc bless him. :smile:

Print the workshop in the downloads for reading error codes and get him to read the codes that will be stored in the ecu. This should hopefully point him in the direction of the problem. Then get him to buy a PC and join the club LOL

Hi dadba, R reg Torrano TDi, Mil Light on, may be intermitant ? This could be water in the fuel filter, You could unplug the lead under the filter to prove this, if light goes out then remove and clean housing and fit a new filter.

mine did the same turned out to be a clogged mini fuel filter on the engine and once clean was great no problems
