WELL.
Just come in for a brew and saw this:cool:
I now have a rather fetching cardboard bumper and loads of parcel tape flying about :lol
I'll put some pics up later for your delectation:thumbs
I dont think there will be a weight problem making it from steel though. I've taken plenty off so far:augie

OI
Go out to do a bit of work and you lot start!:p
Well it IS raining now, so thanks............
Here's a pic or two for Zippy, aw;)

This is more or less what I'm aiming for. I couldn't find my winch fairlead thing but the marker pen is where it'll be.
The lower bit will have holes in it and covers the mounting flanges.:thumbs

There will be a bit more cut off this to be a bit more tapered. Will use the odl bumper to infill up to the wing.
Recovery points on the front directly inline with the chassis.:D
Number plate will be just under the winch fairlead bit I hope.
Details tomorrow:cool:

:D Looking good!!
Why you thinking of taking the sides up more? (If I read it right) looks about right on the pic.

That looks just the job Pete.

Should be a very tidy job when finished.

So whats the plan Pete - are you getting a one off or did you tell me there was a guy somewhere that would make a pattern from this?

I just want a bit more angle when viewed from the side. It'll be somewhere along the brown tape line.
The idea is to get templates made so it'll be a doddle to make more.
The guy making it is going to try and fold it so making the profile a nice round!
As opposed to weld n grind:eek:
We'll see:augie

looks great, tanks for the pics.

how much space is there behind that for a winch then?

Blinking loads mate. Small family of immigrants in there when I took the bumper off!
The front of the mav is curved and there's a long way back to the rad. so no probs. and should have the winch hidden:thumbs

Looking good there Bud, can't wait to see the end result.

Lee.

Here be a bumper update:thumbs
Got it fixed up for alignment and final trim etc.:)
No bigger than std bumper and winch enclosed:D
Bottom skid plate not on yet and indicators to do:D:eek:
