I am suffering from poor engine performance. Following advice from the forums, I removed the maff sensor for cleaning. It looks exactly like the one featured in the workshop download with 4 wires, but it is colour completely black with no part number or makers stamp. Any clues guys.

If its a 2.7TDI as you've not got your car in signature, BUY a new MAF don't waste time trying to clean it  Get a new one. Sounds like you've got a Bosch?

They can be bought from Nissan for £34. If the dealer has old stock they will try the charge £90. IF they have to order it it should be a lot less.

Put the maff back in this morning and the car is back as crap as ever.
I do not know how successful I will be sourcing one here in Peru.

They do turn up on ebay and if you have a paypal account you may find a seller who will post to Peru!

Just a thought and i'm no expert (at anyhting  ) but if it runs better without the MAF would it hurt to run it without for a while?

might be better than waliking?

But wait for a better reply before trying it

Mine seems pretty sluggish so rang around just now to get a price for a MAF sensor.

first dealer, 'Yes its in stock, £84.' I said I thought it should only be about £35 but he said no.
Next dealer £197!!!!
Third one I tried said £500!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone get one for £35? If so I'll pay postage etc and a few beer tokens for your trouble.

Cheers

Chris

Cheers toolbox.

Is there any issues with running the car with the MAF sensor disconnected?

He may be able to sort you out, its worth a try

brilliant! thanks very much!!

got in contact and now have one ordered and in the post!!!!!!!

amazing!

i have to say this club really is brilliant.
Imagine all the prodding around and testing and cost of trying to diagnose the fault myself or even worse paying for a garage to do that same.
I'd probably just have driven the T2 as is and sold it pretty quickly thinking they were slow and gutless.

Thanks very much for the technical information from the forum.

HOW MUCH?

Not sure what the deal is with posting specific prices on the internet as he said it varys from model to model.
It was definitely the cheapest price I found though and also know it is the correct one as he used chassis number to identify exact part.

Best thing is to is contact Hammond1027 via PM or email saying what you're looking for and your phone number then he'll give you a ring (well he did with me anyway).

Good luck

Cheers

where did u get it and how much might be interested in it:augie

Geoff, me and you seem to be going through the same problems.
With me being in the trade I had them look extensively in to Bosch's parts supercessions and i'm now running one for a fraction of what was originally listed (£105+ vat, lead time January direct from Bosch!).

I'll post up the part numbers tomorrow

Before you rush out and buy a new Maf. Make sure you get the correct make and it is the Maf that needs replacing. David.

maf

Reading the MAF post why do nissan in Bradford want £370.00 + Vat and other nissan dealerships say cheaper

Did think the Bosch was the cheaper maf are the ones on fleebay proper Bosch

Mine only has a Little flat spot un-even reving?? Fuel cosumption not as good as my last 2T.

if part cheap?? was going to change has part of the service.
