hi car seems to have lost some power?? took EGR valve off and cleaned it out still no difference so thought id remove maf sensor and see if i can clean it but it has 5 splines in the torq screws holding it on all my torqs have 6 is this a special, tried mate who owns garage and he did not have one either any ideas ? ta peter 2005 2.7 tdi

itll be a Bosch MAF, you cant clean them, they are self cleaning, you might want to consider a new. In saying that, you'll still need the correct torx to remove/refit!

Do what I did either cut a slot with a hacksaw or cut head off then when the sensor is out the way u can use mole grips on the stud and get throttle little shit out and use new bolts to screw the clean sensor back in its plastic so as long as u get the right size bolt it will re tap the threads now can u guess which way I did either:augie:lol

ta for reply i took screws out with vise grips and took maff out was clean but gave it a blast any way now back in again with normal self tappers is a bosch model.mate cleared alarm( maff sensor but that might have been from when i took it out to clean it) and he said the voltage range looked ok for the maff sensor ??...took it for another run and i think its better ?? if the maff sensor is not triggering an alarm that the code reader can see is it ok ???? ta peter

if its within tolerances then it wont flip an alarm, and wont go into limp mode, so should be ok! the code will still be stored unelss you clear it, but if the eng check light isnt on, there there is no current issue...:thumb2
