like i'd confess!

We went up there on saturday and I'm doing the old macho thing "look we're on a rough track in eight inches of snow dear aren't I clever - and theres only one other set of tyre marks here before me"

"Yes dear they're mine from yesterday".

<deflated>

had to get out and check and sure enough, four sets of doggie prints to confirm....the shame of it all.....Willow will be putting the points on the scoreboard as we speak no doubt!:bow

yesp, shes also just got some news rubbers off ebay. I pointed her to them. as to far from me.

shell take a lot of catching im sure...

Hey extreme I couldn't agree more:D
I wouldn't even think about making my beastie capable of tackling that last track:cool:
However I was just thinking that IF there was some LSD that could be persuaded to fit ,then that may be a plan worthy of a tail pinning on it:sly
No way on earth could I warrant thousands on lockers etc:eek:
So for the moment I'm still planning 33"s anyway but not sure I need the body lifting as well, yet!

a lot depends on the offset of your rims. but you, like me want lots of offset. im still of the opinion if you trim the arches you will get 33's on without body lift and i recon im looking at 33's for me

i really need to throw caution to the wind and just cut them but i will need something to fit back which brings me to the super dakar look arches i have a plan for that now too

i recon with a couple of days together we could have both trucks cut and made good, and probably the arches made up too...

only trouble is that red hearse in your front garden taking up valuable work space...its almost old enough to have been your first car.:lol shove it on ebay and get some space back

then we can do some proper truck work

Oi dont start on my "hearse" I loves her I do:eek:
However it is on the way to the body shop soon. I've got two tastey jobs to collect on soon:sly
I'm up for cutting the wings no prob. I did a rough template a few weeks back. The wings are that thin you can cut them with a good scissors! I'm not sure though about getting a flange back on it though:nenau

i got just the tool fro cutting and a welder . for wide boy arches we need some of that foam they use for modeling or dried flowers. it can be cut . sanded and glued etc ready for fibre glass :thumbs

when you leaving for Cornwall i still not got a trailer yet the git aint phoned back but need to collect over the weekend...... any ideas ?

subarub uses long nose version, T2 use short nose. May be possible to swap lsd across - don't know. Only certain scoobies use it most use R160.

must say 33's sounds a good size with out ending up with an all show 'n' go
monster truck. that icelander other day on 33's looked oem. 33 was or is the
biggest that the ARC association of rover clubs allowed for trails vehicles
be they road taxed or cross country ( trailered to events) rtv and ccv classes.

when had my rangie with 16" rims fancied 255/85x16s which came out around
33 and probably only needed say a 2" suspension lift and maybe some trimming
of arches so silhouete wasnt altered.

only thing for me is 33's would overdrive all gears so wonder how would effect
tractability with a ton and half of 'van on back. perhaps raising the diff ratios
or the hi ratio, or giving engine a poke to produce more power to compensate.

watching you guys closely cos seems to be way to go without body lift if
can be avoided or more than necessary winding up of suspension.

33"s the way to go I think too. Problem 1) 1.5 tons to tow:nenau
Take that off to start with:D
More power for gearing yep I'm going for Tuneit chip as its variable and the supplier will also do a deal:sly
He says it will handle the T28 turbo too.£300 inc postage and K&N filter:thumbs
Puts around 25-30BHP but more usable

I ave a plan and I've bought the bits but they're in Co-duram or Northumberland somewhere, won't get to it till march though - will keep you posted.

Bits have arrived and have started playing but its not going to be as straight
forward as I'd have hoped. Still will persevere and see what gives. Also still looking for another front std front diff to play with - see wanted in classifieds.

have a look at this you might get some ideas, ie, run a secondary inter cooler, got allard phase 2 on my disco and it definately makes a difference, smoother, more power, torque, mpg.
