I have just acquired this '99 2.7TD. Tested it around country roads, seemed fine. Drove home, (180 miles) on motorway. No apparrent problems. Next day had to use it in hilly country. No power up hills. Really struggled. Checked it with my mechanic man, and agreed that problem would appear to be turbo. Have now acquired new turbo, half way through stripping out unit only to find it is a relacement unit (car has done 75.800 genuine miles) and a new intercooler!!!! Is the problem still turbo? There is engine oil in the end of the turbo, (play on the shaft) in the end of the air intake pipe, in both ends of the intercooler, so still points to turbo, but nagging doubts linger. Plus bolts seized on manifold so a bigger job than before to remove. Anyone got any ideas?
