seeing as i may not be able to insure my truck 'still looking' i might get another cheap car, been looking at metros, pugs etc, but mostly classic cars, as i could get something needing a little work like this, think about it, classic insurance :naughty looks good and isnt a gay boy racer car:thumb2

or i could just get one of these and keep it relatively standard looking, possibly just put spotlights on or something

Me thinks Classic insurance is for the over 25s not sure i might be wrong.
get quotes first before you jump in,
one of my Learners has a Chiccinto or some think like that its a Grand as a learner driver. laurie.

As above, you wont get "Classic" insurance till 25 . Many may even refuse you insurance as they're too old and not on the prefered list
BUT you must do the quote machine leg work. Get your act together on compare and confused for starters , put the car choices you want in and see how the quotes roll.
Don't forget to add your mother as a named driver , it's cheaper than your dad.
Also play around with extra excesses and limited mileage and vary job titles.
Go crunch some numbers mate :thumbs

I'm glad I'm nearly twice your age Ryan. My first car was a J reg Pug 205 Trio SX (a GTI shell with the sliding sunroof but just a 1.1) Paid maybe £1650 for it and was £700 to insure TPFT for just me.

I don't know what your budget is but you can expect anything sub £500 or described as a classic is going to need a bit of work. Insuring and fueling a motor isn't going to be cheap, how much do you wan't to be spending a month to keep it roadworthy? £500 to £1000 I'd be looking at 106/saxos, puntos , rover 200/25 1.1, a micra? Whatever you choose get the best you can afford, Saving a bit longer or stretching the budget might save you in the long run.

 Don't laugh but I had a Micra after the 205 . A 1.3 Super S. Twin cam, chain driven timing. It was white with wide 15" alloys, rally mudflaps and Rally Giants on the front. I had it 2 years and apart from a heater fan speed restrictor from the scrappy it cost me nowt. The cheapest motor to run I've ever had, surprising as I used to love the sound of the K&N induction kit:naughty Wish I kept it now:(

use it as a deposit or think of it as being 1/4 there to insurance if you mam won't put her name down for credit (monthly payments)

If your going to insure your Terrano for round about a grand I would be jumping at it. I can't see the point in buying something cheap which you'll probably have to do a bit of work on, chances are it'll not be taxed and you'll still be lucky to insure for any less. You might aswell put all your cash towards one motor which you already own unless your going to put the Terrano off the road. If thats the case why spend money on it, you may aswell flog it:confused:

Ryan have you run a quote on these old motors yet mate? How do they compare to the T2 ? :)
