right as you all know been having troubles with my instrument cluster not working started off as just fuel gauge but now nothing apart from spedo and clock and hazard / indicator lights work (no rev counter warning lights or temp and fuel gauge everyone saying ignition switch but don't want to go spending £42 if that's not the problem?

anyway today I took all dash apart dropped steering colum and took switch off but left it plugged into the multi plug and used a screw driver to act as the key to turn to the positions heres the results:

IGNITION OFF: white/black wire bottom row left = 12v
other 4 wires = 0v

IGNITION 1ST CLICK: white/black wire bottom row left = 12v
blue/white wire middle row left = 12v
other 3 wires 0v

IGNITION 2ND CLICK: white/black wire bottom row left = 12v
blue/white wire middle row left =12v
yellow/black wire middle row right = 12v
other 2 wires 0v

3 MULTI PLUGS ON BACK OF DIAL CLUSTER
RIGHT HAND SIDE TOP MULTI PLUG ONLY ONE WIRE THAT HAD VOLTAGE WAS RED/GREEN AT 12V ALL OTHER PLUGS AND WIRES HAD 0v

checked all fuses etc and all are fine as can see

what can be causing my dial cluster failure????

is it still ignition switch as everyone says??????

please help or if anyone around the burnham/Highbridge area can come have a look I be more then greatfull as only way of seeing how much fuel I got is to rock the truck and listen to tank

many thanks

.sam.

Might be cheaper to get another dash and just plug it in to see if it works.
That should be cheaper than getting someone out, then at least you know the dash is good (assuming it is agood dash from a reliable source ).
If everthing was working and started failing it could be the voltage regulator on the cluster.
just a thought.

Have you tried cncfabs, he's a member on here and lives in Somerset

Cheers guys

She's a 1994 2.7td

Did think about getting another cluster to see if it's that but just hit a wall now as electrics really not my thing hence why thinking of getting someone to come look at it and asking if anyone fancied a look lol
