Lights on roof

Not done the roof lights yet but my CB aerial lead comes under the door seal and then down the back of the 'A' pillar trim, not perfect but works, I'm probably going to put a waterproof connector in my roof for the lights though, not sourced em yet but have some in mind. I want to be able to remove the lights and rack as a unit if required.

Hi HB :smile: Funny you should mention about the connector I was going to ask you if you could recomend a type of connector for this as i'm wanting to be able to remove my roof rack with spots fitted if needed :roll:

can someone please clarify can have them on a seperate switch on there own from the headlines,or do they have to be wired from the headlight switch?

roof lights

Officially you must have a seperate switch to disconnect them if need be but you can connect them in line with your main light system. Every additional light I have connected has a switch. Any light above head height is classed as a work light which you can use officially off road. On the road officially you cant use them but the way round it is to fit a switch should an on form cop wish to stop you. Lorry drivers who fit these probably know this too. Go for it -groovy-

Law changed a few years ago Dadba, as long as they dip with the main bean you can have as many lights as you want provided they are fitted symettrically and in pairs. Its all HERE

Whilst on the subject of driving lights, I'd like some addvice.

I have bought a few pairs of lights now some with very narrow beams some with wide beams all have been labeled as spot/driving lights. what I would now like is 4 round 7" (I think) lights which have wideish beams, I dont like wee spots way up ahead or 2 spots and 2 wide beams, so what I basicly need is some where that know about the lights they are selling!

Think its more down to the manufacturers, with people like Cibie, Hella and PIAA you'll get what it says on the box, but you'll pay for it, with other brands its a bit more hit and miss I've found.

Lights on roof or any where

On one of my other cars, some 20 years a go, i use KC daylightes, are they still about, not sure if they can be used any more.
