55 reg commercial- can anyone with similar confirm that you have the lights-on / door open beep like the previous trucks? Part of the Timer unit..

3.0 if that helps.

Can't be specific for your truck, but AFAIK it's standard on them all. The problem is normally the Driver Door Switch, it is 2 switches in one, and the contacts for the Timer, get dirty.

I took mine apart, and cleaned it all up, but it is very fiddly, and you have to watch for the spring disappearing off into the next century, but doable..

TIP:-
When dismantling things like this, work with your hands and item, in a clear plastic bag, then any springs are contained.

On my 55 plate if the lights are left on after switching the ignition off & you open the door it beeps:augie

I believe the same buzzer is used for the trailer indicator warning, so may be worth checking for bleep with trailer indicators connected.

It's a different beep sound when I connect up the caravan electrics so it's either a different buzzer or a twin tone buzzer:nenau

This truck (a new customer) has no key-on beep, no lights on beep-beep , infact no beep at all.

I have a spare timer unit which I may try after checking the drivers door pin switch.

Thanks.

It's the same sounder all controlled by the TCU - Time Control Unit.

Is the TCU programmed to the vehicle spec in terms of central locking etc?

Yes, the remote key fobs will need to be reprogrammed to the new TCU FOR THE CL/Alarm. But it won't involve the NATs.

Great info Ray:thumbs so the TCU must give out different types of peeps then as the lights left on warning is nice & gentle compared to the trailer system which is rather loud & spooks my dog every time until she remembers what it is (caravan on the back):lol

Bingo!!

I think that's the problem my Audi is having I keep leaving the lights on and it's not buzzing at me:thumb2
