I recently posted asking about what sort of a job it was to replace the heater matrix and received instructions for which I am grateful, However before I tackle what looks like a hell of a job has anyone had experience of using K-seal a radweld type product. It reads very good but I wonder!!!

Best regards Aggy

In a word...NO.

Not only will it temporarily bung up your matrix, but probably block it solid as well as critical narrow passageways in the engine.

Got a heater matrix in the shed if its any good £25 plus postage.

PM for a details,

heater matrix in shed

k-seal

hi . bought a terrano 2.7 tdi ... had a leak . mechanic recommended k-seal . this was duly added to system to stop an outward leak on the head gasket .... this was four months ago ........ so far so good . i am a new member .... congrats on a great forum .. saved me money already . nisstay

i have used k-seal a few times and all leaks were stopped, and it wont block your heater matrix, because it will only set on mixing with air, with a job like a matrix change it has to be worth a try. :nenau:thumbs

When I worked for a Ford dealer there always seemed to be a Mav in the workshop with it's dash out having a new heater matrix put in. When mine had water in the passenger footwell I assumed it was the same thing.

One the the mechanics told me there was a drain tube coming off the AC (from memory) that got blocked up and caused it to leak into the footwell. It took him a few minutes to clean it and the problem went away.

Apparently a lot of the matrix replacements didn't really nead doing but of course paid more.

So before ripping the dash out have a look for a blocked pipe.
