to be honest, as most wives think logically , wont she wonder why you need a snorkel in the first place,

a small hole in the wing will probably seem quite minor when she asks what happens to nice shiny new trucks when you submerge them in water and the interior gets a good soaking and the electrics start playing up

id go for the dumb approach and pretend you know nothing about it . or paint it silver and hope she dont notice it 8O  8O

Very, Very nice Sniffer, Good looking motor.

Mav.

to be honest, id rather have a suspention lift and body lift first.. that way id get 4" to 6" befor id get water inside...

  -mex-

Thanks for all the kind words chaps, was a little nervous of how it would look but I think the peace of mind it gives me is well worth it.

Bit of a daft question, (sorry) looking at the pic's, as it got a water trap inside the wing, or with the air vent so high up not need one?

Paul.

There is no water trap in the wing but I am reliably informed that there is minimal water intake from the top of the snorkel and it evaporates before it gets anywhere near the filter, the intake pipe is lower than the filter also, so this should help as well.

The engine bay could do with a clean

Looks like the snorkel was a good idea, jugging by all the muck in there

Yeah, you could have a point there, I am a tad embarrassed by the state of it at the moment, perhaps this weekend with some TFR and the hose
