OK I will stick my two penorth in for good measure, I think most points have been covered but am not convinced the answer's to the questions have been accurate or in the right sequence which is leading to confusion, so I will list them as I feel best, first suspect is the throttle, now I am not sure what you replaced, but this electrical part consists of two parts, the position sensor and the closed micro switch, I know this because my off roader gave trouble only a short while ago, the micro switc was not making when the pedal was up, which put the car in limp mode, hiting it and spaying with WD 40 cured it on the day and I sorted it proper later, but most importantly do you still get the 43 code? next item is the MAF, it is Bosch so nothing you can do with it, swap it if you can, and yes there are more than one temperature sensor, so the one that sends temperature info to the ecu could be bad, it might not cause all your problem but combined with a poor MAF certainly could, again are you still getting the 13 code, assuming of course you cleared the codes last time you read them, you have "consult" so you can read and cancel the codes from there, I would remove the mini filter completely it is in the banjo bolt at cab end of the pump as opposed to the TD where it on the front of the pump, but your most useful tool is the codes but only if cleared each time they are read, Rick

Did the paperclip trick and it is showed two fault codes
13 Engine coolant sensor
43 Accelerator pedal position, this is why I changed the pedal
Engine coolant sensor was replaced 5000 miles ago as the needle hardly moved and I thought it was faulty after it was changed it was no different.
I have cleaned the maff with contact cleaner, but not replaced it

Cleaning the MAF doesn't always work. That why I ended up replacing mine. 5 minutes changes them if you were able to borrow one to try.

Sorry, only just noticed you where in France. Guess you are a little far away from members here in the UK. I'm 45mins from Dover if it helps:eek::eek:

When I changed the pedal I twas the whole assembly micro switch and all, I dont now how I could test it to make sure it was working ok.
I am going to borrow the maf off my LWB tomorrow and see if that works.
If I remember isn't there a download somewhere about the mini filter?

if I had the money I would pay for rick to come over fix it for you as he is the man.
don't scrap your motor over relatively small issues.
if the chssis is rotten scrap
everything else can be fixed.

My last effort with the car was to clear all the fault codes as someone said it may not work until this was done. Will the codes re appear as soon as you start the engein again if the problem still persists.

that is the whole point, clear the codes, then read again if same codes then you still have the same faults, Rick

If he would like a cheap holiday this spring he would be welcome we have plenty of room, 8 bedrooms, and there's just two of us now. May be we could organize a "fix Johns motor trip to France" thread! lol

i would happily put my tools and family in the car and drive down to have a go at fixing your t2.

OK! We have a max 5 spare double rooms, some on suit, so max 5 couples , ten peeps. all you would have to do is pay the ferry, petrol and contribute a bit of shopping . You are welcome to stay a week or so to see the sights and fill the boot with wine .we could look at the car in the evenings over a beer!
So Who's in ? if you are serious I will start a thread with details !

We initially started to renovate the house with the intention of doing B&B,that's why there are so many en suite rooms. It basically is a guest house but never been opened, as we are going to put it up for sale this year with hopes of coming back to the UK next year.
