Have you checked to make sure there is actually any space left on the drive you are downloading to? Try to download something tiny to see, and try different locations on the machine in case you've lost the rights to save in the default one?

Can't download ANYTHING, otherwise I would have tried Chrome and or Firefox
Didn't think about the mem stick thing.:doh i'll give it a go in a cup of tea's time
The lappy used to run Chrome no probs, I just got rid of all junk as this little machine is destined to be a glorified calculator and will never normally be online at all.
It seems the battery must have completely died as when I rebooted it last week I had to do the XP service pack3 thing all over again :nenau
