Laning day 11th october 09
HI JUST GOT BACK FROM REECE 12.30 PM DIDNT GO TILL LATE AFTERNOON.
FIRST LANE HAS BEEN RE CLASSIFIED A BRIDLEWAY.
SORTED OUT A NEW ROUTE TO TAKE IN THE NEW LANES IVE FOUND ,HAD TO DO A BIT OF PRUNING HERE AND THERE BUT WELL WORTH THE EFFORT.
ANOTHER BYWAY WE HAVE DRIVEN BEFORE NOW HAS BEEN RE CLASSIFIED AS A FOOTPATH BUT WHAT WAS ONCE A BRIDLEWAY HAS NOW BEEN UPGRADED TO BYWAY GIVING A MUCH LONGER AND BETTER ROUTE.
HAYTON HILLSIDE ALSO HAS A DEAD END BYWAY WHICH WE DROVE AND I MUST SAY IT WAS WELL WORTH IT FOR THE VIEWS AND A PLEASANT DRIVE.OF ABOUT 1/2 MILE.
FOUND ANOTHER BYWAY IT WAS A BIT RUTTED BUT CAREFUL DRIVING GOT ME THROUGH TO THE END AND SOME END IT WAS OVER A FLOOD BANK AND HARD LEFT OR YOU ARE IN THE RIVER.
IT WAS DUSK BY NOW
WE BACK TRACKED A COUPLE OF TIMES TO CHECK ON SOME OTHER BYWAYS NEAR SO ALTERED THE ROUTE TO TAKE THEM IN TO.
WE DROVE THROUGH CLUMBER PARK TO FIND A RIVER CROSSING MENTIONED IN WET ROADS 40 FT LONG OVER COBBLES AND 3" DEEP NOT VERY GOOD TROUBLE WAS IT TOOK 1/2HR TO GET OUT OF THE PLACE BECAUSE A LOT OF THE LANES ARE CLOSED AT NIGHT.EVEN GOT CHASED BY A JOHN DEERE TRACTOR AT ONE POINT .
HAD A COUPLE OF PROBLEMS WITH THE GPS DROPPING OUT WHEN THE BATTERY WENT LOW ON LAPTOP, OK AGAIN WHEN I PLUGGED CHARGER INTO IT.
SO JUST GOT TO RE PLAN THE ROUTE NOW TO TAKE IN THE BEST OF THE BEST.
