was yours a constant knock or just now and then.

it started as a occasional knock , which got worse when cornering , then it became a constant knock when the vehicle was running ... took about 10 mins to fix it

what happened was eventually the guard became wedged on the actual knuckle joint , so instead of it spinning around it occasionally , it did it all the time the propshaft was moving

of course it may not be that , but if it is , you cannot remove the guard without removing the propshaft , the easy option is to place it back where it should be and place three " dents " around it using a hammer and punch , so it sits tight on its shaft ...... or perhaps you dont have a guard and its only a feature of imports ? ...... i dunno mate , but its a easy fix

mine has the knock when i go over a rough bit of road thats why i suspect the suspension.if i'm on a nice smooth road it doesn't do it:nenau
will let you know later what i find off to get dirty now:thumbs

Good luck buddy

Umm

Does make you think shock's :thumbs

But  :doh

Could it actually be coming from the front & the sound being thrown :nenau
Or do you actually feel it as well

Feel sorry for as stuff like this can drive you bloody mental :banghead

Thing's like this really try ya patience & after my last 2 week's mine rock bottom :doh :lol :augie

got the welding finished so i set about trying to find this knocking that ive got.
jacked up the rear and put it on axle stands so no weight on the suspension and set about wiggling and poking various bushes.:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
no play or damage that is visable.
checked the prop again and nothing to report there.
let the back down and jacked up the front and pretty much the same story.
needed some fuel so while the hammerite in the rear was drying i nipped up to the garage and guess what.....no knocking sound.:clap
only thing different at the mo with the motor is that it hasn't got any rear seats in.
will get the carpet and seats put back in tommorrow and then see if the knocking comes back.
didn't sound like it was inside the motor so i dont think it will make much difference when i put them back in....but heres hoping.

lets hope so mate.
got me thinking that its a possibility as the floor had rotted where the rubber feet of the seats rest.all plated and painted just got to re fit them.
job at work tommorrow morning then give it a run to see whats what.

Dangling the wheels seems to have cured it . Maybe a spring was not sitting properly?

put the rear carpet and seats back in,took my daughters to the orthadontist which is about a 30 mile round trip and no knocking sound.

just got the leaky roof to sort now and all will be well but thats another story.

picked up my brother in law, mother in law and wife from hospital yesterday and on the way back the knocking sound came back.
drove a few miles with the window down to try and figure out where it was coming from.
sounds like its more to the middle of the motor so its jack it up at the weekend and have another look:(

Treble check the UJ's
Check all the exhaust bracket's

I can't think of anything else :nenau

I'd be :banghead if i was you :doh
