hi again all, when i bought our car the one key had snapped off in the drivers door we use it still and it opens fine but i was wondering if i could get it out its a pain using one key for the lock and one for the ignition, any ideas would be gladly recived.
:doh oh and i have had more keys cut now so if i can get it out i still have keys to use.

the other down side is i can stick any key in the lock and it unlocks :doh obviously because most of the key is already in there. :thumb2

cheers

How far in the lock is it? can you see it?

Could you get something like a needle and poke it in and try and poke it out gently? might need WD40 in the lock.

you may need to remove the barrel form door, and carefully remove the mechanism on the end, and try and poke the broken key out as jim said using a needle, it's a bit fiddly but can be done. good luck, :thumb2:doh

its proper in the lock you cant see anything ay all and the 'fob' part of the key goes in a little way. i wasnt sure if i coult take the lock apart i think that is the only option??:doh

take the lock out and slam the face of it down hard on a hard surface this can cause the key stub to move towards the opening then pick it out with a scribe or something similar.

Had the key jammed in the lock and first thing the lock smith said was not to force it and break it as it would be a new lock& key
Sounds like the way they are set up that they are stuffed some how . That was in the Mistral.

Might pay to get a locksmith to have a look to see if it can be retrieved .
