I've just got another Terrano - 2004 2.7 swb. It came with two keys. One key opens and locks the doors remotely and will start the engine. The other key will remotely open and lock the doors but won't start the engine. I'm presuming I'm going to have to go to a Nissan dealer to see about getting the key transponder replaced or this one recoded to the car?

Thanks

Joe

Looks that way to me but there are more and more locksmiths able to offer this service now and far cheaper than dealers too.

do not use the bad key to start the engine, if used three times in a go it will lock you out even with the good key, the duff key needs to be reprogrammed, any key locksmiths can do this, Rick

If the same as honda, you may have to have both keys together to be programmed together (thus stopping a thief stealing one of your keys)
