Just thinkin on getting the filter as shark1e, but TDI version. I am in the middle of doing a service (bit by bit when I have time) and am going to change the air filter so thinking of getting a K&N replacement.
Do you think the kit (mushroom filter) to be of any benefit, my thoughts are that being open in the engine bay it may get more dirt on it, its a very dusty place to put it with the engine fan blowing all the dust around etc.

to be honest i felt no difference in performance think they claim extra 5hp i cant see it myself only so much air the engine can suck an the electronics can compute into adding more fuel! i would say it lets engine suck from 360 degrees not just 2 inchx 1 inch holeas per standard looks neater if nothing else plus you get two nice stickers for back windows! i think there a tunning aid if your gonna keep going chipping the ecu playing with boost etc i service mine every five k religously as it gets driven hard (took it for wheel balance kid asked what speed i said starts at eighty stops at hundred! he didnt know what to say!)

i think they are retail at £39.95 + vat + Delivery the same as the one i have, but not sure until i speak with K and N regarding level of discount.

Same as Big Jim, I would get one as well. I noticed the improvement when I only replaced the old standard filter with a new standard air filter, I look forward to the improvement in power with the K&N !

I can locate parts numbers for both my vehicles, with the link above but cannot find a dealer that stocks them. Patrol is too old and Mav too differant, so this would mean paying through the nose for an import?
