Just wondering how much will the oil coating will affect the reading on the maf sensor,with it being a diesel engine.Dinky

it hasnt affected my tdi its only a thin coating it soaks into filter material its only to atract muck its very thin wd40 kindve thin

K&N style filters (oiled cotton over guase) have been shown to flow far more air square inch for square inch than most other filters and to trap smaller particles too. Tests have shown that even what appears to be a clogged filter is still capable of passing almost 100% of its normal flow rate. These being independent tests not K&Ns.

just replaced my standard filter with another for now cos mot coming up and a good full service is in order it was only a fiver :?

Having read many tests of K&N filters in a 4x4 enviroment the conclusion is that they are poor especially in dusty conditions.
