Sweety, was heart broken a week or so back because my old tomtom did that. Opened it up amd gave the power socket a dose of heat from the soldering iron. Then there is a multiplug between the two circuit boards, made sure they were pushed together correctly. Now working fine so have my choices back:thumb2

Never had a stand alone sat nav always used my phone ones. Last five years I've used copilot. It's the best end of. Went to Holland and Germany this year and found it better than Nissan's in car one and reacts quicker than a garmin coming out of tunnels and so on :D
Speed camera alerts, live traffic, free updates , shortest, quickest, cheapest etc
AND it goes where I do.So when looking for the gig venue in Bristol it guides me in and also inside shopping centres etc
Galaxy S6 by the way, flippin rocks :naughty

Cheers Jim might have a look inside my old one then maps are out of date now but it worked flawlessly for 8 years:thumb2 somehow can't see this one lasting as long:rolleyes:

Mine won't last as long, especially the way I get hacked off with it and chuck in the passenger footwell :nenau

Thought I'd try copilot, chuff me google want me to finish my account set up by putting payment details in even though it's the free version. This happens every time I look at an app, I don't trust so why should I give a company my card details when I don't trust them. The. Go through the permissions, ok why do they want access to my call logs? I guess really it's as much the people that program these devices that are to blame.

You should be able to skip past the payment/card details bit Jim often comes up on mine but skip past it:thumbs

I do sweety but it's just another example of modern technology that's dumb. Why doesn't it give you the option to tick a box not to ask again.

One day Rick I will get down to your place to see how good the other half live:thumb2

Like that to happen, you will get a warm welcome, Lazy-Ferret looked in today as did Mav96 and a few days ago carpy33, harlowmav of course and less recently many others, Rick

Hope to do so one day Rick, next year I hit a milestone age and I want to do a lot of things next year.

I reckon a lot of my problem with technology/programmers is I don't like being forced to do anything and I'm naturally very rebellious which seems to run in my family:lol

Thing is Jim if anyone is mad enough to want to know where I am or who I called, good luck to 'em. I can't be arsed worrying when our illustrious leaders now have access to it all anyway . Also this week web site history has to be kept for a year or some crap.
Admittedly I'd rather not have to agree to all but hey ho .
I'm happy with copilot, it's the only app I've paid for and it's brill
The other thing I love about tech is that I now stream all my music. On the phone, in the car and at home on the HiFi :D

Arghhh that flippin copilot. Turns out it didn't install :doh

Off to find a nice drop of alcohol and then bed:thumb2

Ah that is the water Pete, fresh out of the ground, Rick

Spent the afternoon trying to bring over all my accounts and stuff on to a new phone. Simples.
Aaaaargh!!!

Oh go on do tell from what phone to what phone?

I've been juggling androids today and both have been a pain in the bottom today. Galaxy S3 mine and S4 thats works, both pants.

Galaxy S4 to S6. I was happy with the S4 until I dropped it.

Theres a big difference in the android versions isn't there. I got google to sync my contacts which helped but I didn't like later version of droid on my s3 so my son put it back to stock. It's slow but at least it's familiar and works with kies. When I say slow it is proper bad.
When I can afford it will be iphone for me but that'll be a long time off, not paying a load of money to be stuck in a monthly contract for two years.

You're a better man than me if you get on with kies. I've never had that work. There's something called Samsung Smart Switch that helps transfer from old phone to new, but most apps are transferred when I add the Google account, then there's just the finishing off transferring email accounts and other stuff like Linkedin and Dropbox that need to be done manually.
We're just about done now. :)

I had an S4 and now have the S6. Data transfer was a breeze, just put them together and off they went :D
Do you guys not back up anything ? Android does all that on it's own. My photos upload as soon as I go past wifi or get home. My contact details etc are all backed up and I have a cloud somewhere that holds everything :D
S6 rules
