Evening all.

Back in the forum after a while out. I admit it; the Mav's been working fine (until now).

I have an intermittent problem with starting the car recently. On turning
the key to commence the plug-warming cycle; instead of getting the usual
dashboard lights coming on, the clock fades (suggesting a big draw from the
battery) and the stereo now needs it's code inputted.

Could it be a sticky relay? After a while the car decides its ok to start and you can start the car with no problem from battery or flashing engine warning light.

My Mav is fitted with an Elsbett veg oil conversion, which was done over 3 years ago, so maybe its the new relays.

Has anyone had similar troubles with a 'standard' 2.7TD?

Thanks in advance.
Glenn

Check both battery leads and the earth strap from the engine. Your problem will be there.

Thanks guys.

I've cleaned up both battery terminal clamps and with some copper grease got them nice and tight. Seems to have worked a treat.

Regards,
Glenn
