Flick key off and on again and she's fine, no mil light, pulls like a train until very intermittent power loss

So I'm not sure where to go next ?

So far:

New fuel lines
New fuel filter, twice
Glow plugs
Injectors serviced
New maf
Refitted standard airbox
Blanked egr
Removed mini filter
Fixed intake flap open and removed linkage

Car has dodgy ignition switch, but ign lights never come on and car never stalls just loses all power/ won't rev

Thinking Ecu next ?

have you checked pipes to intercooler.my mondeo went into limp mode cos intercooler pipe split.and my transit boost pipe plays up now and again just slips a bit and its limp mode time.

Stinky, I think it's time you sorted the ign switch. I know it sounds daft but I didn't believe mine could be an issue but it ruddy well was. So a few quid and it's done. The ecu could just be resetting after an ign sw glitch.
Cheap fixes always appeal to me now :D
Good luck, and it's just the switch not the whole ignition barrel :thumbs

You need to do the ignition switch, They cause all sorts of problems

Ok lads, is this a Nissan only thing then or can I get it from motor factors ?

Will piss myself if it was the ignition switch all along :D

Although everything else has made it sooo smooth and responsive now when she's not cutting out :)

nissan or ford only. about 35-40 quid new. If you get from ford you may need to use a ford maverick reg for them to find it.

I can get fords part no. for you if you like.

I have needed an ignition switch for some time, but Nissan could not find a switch for me Maverick. I have a 97 tdi maverick (round headlights). Could someone post the part number from Nissan also, please.

Mike

Can you not just look at yours ?

never put bio or anything other than standard pump diesel through it so far

Banjo was first thing i did

Onb a side note its fine whilst warming up, then gets bad when it reaches full temp ?

Gonna stick a coolant temp sender in, although it behaves the same with the temp sender unplugged

This power loss only happens when fully hot after about 15 mins of driving, then it happens constantly ... turn ignition off and on, full power comes back then drops off with in 30 secs... repeat AD NAUSEUM

BUT, if I nail it, foot to the board, it will be ok and not lose power; It only happens when fully warm and cruising around on light throttle

WEIRD

hang on.........its not the CKP, is it??

when mine started failing, i had very odd issues......and only ever when it was fully warmed up......just a thought.

on my petrol if I unplug the temp sensor when warm the engine speeds up for a minute or so before the ecu goes to safe mode, what does yours do, Rick

mil light came on when i did it, made no difference tho, was still behaving the same.

only like £15-20 so gonna chuck one in
