Hi everybody i wonder if anyone can offer me a little advice please?

I am pretty fed up with the standard interior light in my Terrrano and fancy fitting some LEDs

What i would like if possible is to use the feed from the central interior light to power some more lights giving a better light coverage.

Can anyone recommend some LEDs (possibly strips) or an alternative?

Cheers
Stephen

you could always put LEDs in the interior lights like i did. will find a pic, hang on

that sounds okay....where do i get them?
my initial thought was maybe get a couple of strips of leds and putting one in the front section and one in the rear...

nice one cheers.
is it the same bulb in the back above the rear door? (swb)

From memory, I think it is, I've put a swb light In mine making 3 lights and I'm sure it was the same, was a while ago when I fitted the bulbs, I'll check tomorrow and report back:thumb2

Call me old fashioned but I hate interior lights and have mine switched off permanently, I use the one in the boot to see what I'm doing and If I need any light up front I usually reluctantly resort to a map light at best

Don't know why I hate them so much, I think the thought of just being lit up like a Christmas tree just doesn't appeal

The world would be a boring place if we all liked the same things:lol its a good idea having them off tbh as when they have normal halogen bulbs in, the light fittings have a habit of melting themselves with the rising heat then becoming cooked and brittle thus the plastic breaking up, I had to change 2 light units because of this, the LEDs obviously don't suffer from this

I think it stems from latent criminal intentions..:lol:lol

I have the same thing, O only tune mine on if I need to see something.. I really hate people who drive with them turned on at night, I just do not understand how they can put up with all the reflections. Having said that, I have driven a couple of times for a short distance with the map light on, on my T2, as it is so focused you do not notice it until you move your hand into the beam and it suddenly reflects back at you. It's the best ma reading light I have ever known.

My old V70 had a great feature where it would automatically turn the light off after 15mins, so even if you left a door open, it would only leave the lights on for that long. Only time it was a problem was when we stop for a Kabab on the way home form my Mums, and sit in the car to eat it.. Kababs and dark do not really work very well, but to make things worse, just as you are getting to the dodgy bit at the end, the car suddenly goes into total darkness...

Thought I was the only one with this 'phobia' LOL.
I even took the bulb out of the boot light as it stays on for 30 secs (seems like forever! At least my Astra fades the int. light once the ign. is on, or after about 10 secs.
Don't like the light from from an unshielded sun roof either, because of the reflections in my (anti-glare!) glasses.

Usually remove the bulbs from the interior lights on mine because the kids kept messing with them and leaving them on and I never had a need to actually use any of them anyway. Changed trucks recently and didn't get around to taking out the bulbs yet but that rear interior light that stays on for 30 seconds annoys me for some reason. Maybe will try led bulbs just to try something different. Had a sunroof in the old truck, kinda liked it.

Mine slowly turns off the interior lights within a second or so of turning on the ignition key, I wonder if by disconnecting the other bulbs, thereby reducing the load, it takes longer to turn off?

30 seconds is a long time, mine only stays on for about 10 after you shut the drivers door, then fades off....fades off quicker now since I went LED:D
