So due to taking a new job I need to get rid off the Terrano as it's just not viable to be doing 450 miles a week commuting in it, thinking of getting an S60 or similar, something that will munch up the motorway miles.

I'd be happy to get £2500 for it given all of the work I've done on it I think it has to make that back for me

Full project thread here, no timewasters

That's a shame mate, you have put alot of work into it just recently.

It happens mate :(

Just hope someone has it that will look after it and invest as much time and money into it as I did to make it even better

Sorry to hear that.i know how much you love your truck.
Does that mean your leaving the forum too?
And will you still be attending August meet?

Good luck with the sale and the new job:thumb2

That's a shame Banshee, are loosing another member and a moderator then ??

Had it not been a van,i could have had some interest. Good luck with the sale though..

:eek::(

Sorry to hear that too bud. Hope you're not leaving the forum too.

Like Steve says, you still coming in August?

Just depends how quick I shift the car boys, if I've still got it I'll be there

I wont be leaving the forum, I'll be sticking around in my moderating capacity if you'll still have me :nenau

I'll be sure to buy another Terrano as and when I'm living closer to work which is the ultimate plan just a shame I'll have to let this one go as it's as close to my idea of perfect as I've ever got :(

Hold up you had three a few weeks ago :freak3:

I think you'll regret it though if you rid of it, why not hold on to it and get a small cheapo hatch as a run about, the mrs ka sips fuel and a full tank is 35 quid :lol cost 290 quid...

Why don't u buy a cheapo motor and any little bits you can fix yourself leaving the Terrano for play time! :sly

When I got rid of my mr2 and my Terrano a regretted both!!!

It's got to be worth more than that.
When I was looking for a Terrano around 12 months ago I was expecting and did have to pay much more than that.

An amazing truck hope it goes to someone who will look after like you have.

Didn't have even a sniff of this new job then though mate :(

The new job is lots more money but the increase in pay would have just been eaten up by fuel bills meaning all I'd be gaining is job satisfaction which is great but that aint going to buy me a house :doh

I need to shift it and buy something that's capable of doing 45-50MPG at least and the S60 fits all my criteria

Your not telling us the full story I think, 450 mile a week is nothing for you and your veggie? :nenau
Think id see how the new job goes before making big decisions! You could buy another motor and it might cost you heavy in repairs! Better the devil you know:thumb2
Good luck in your new job buddy :thumbs

I agree with big bunny.

Let's look at a few harsh facts :(

Terranos fetch bugger all....
They are uncannily reliable
You can get a super cheap second motor for 200 quid (like a baby ford or vauxhall, parts will be dirt cheap and you'll be able to run it on air.

Let's assume you bin the Terrano, I don't think you'll get anywhere near what you want for it... (Nice as she is!!) then you'll end up with something else, all well and good hopefully, I know from pervious experience the "bug" doesn't go away.

So yeah, that's what I'd do, keep Terrano, buy cheap runner. :thumb2

Banshee, you know they're right. Alex is typing a hell of a lot of sense.

By a little cheap car amd sorn the truck job done, not costing you anything then other than cost of a cheap car. You know how long it took you to find the truck. Of course winter will be here soon and we can't go on having mild winters for much longer, we are bound to have a stinker soon.

I agree with Alex Jim and Big bunny and this is coming from a man that has kept his Mav for over 20 years... OK our Mav is not the main motorway cruncher, thank goodness, we drive another car that can do twice that MPG...

However, for every minute of every day, for every year, for ALL of those 20 years, the Mav has sat there, ready to start first time, every time.:thumb2

Best the devil you know is only part of it.
What does our Mav as a second car cost us?
Road tax
Insurance
MOT
Service items.

Does your wife/partner have a vehicle? does she need one? if she does low mileage, can she use the Terrano?

Then you have to consider the winter, a bit of snow, can't get to work, swap vehicles for those days.

As others had said, I thought you used cheap bio, many other cars can't.
You need to look at the cost per mile in fuel.

Only you can decide based on your circumstances, as fellow Nissan owners, we are only opening up the discussion so you can consider all avenues.
The final choice is yours of course, and we respect your choice.

+1

I have agree with all before, when we all see the amount of effort, enthusiasm and time, you have put into making your T, yours, it would be a shame to move it on, when there are other options.

Alex`s idea is very good, and I would be inclined to check it out.......:thumb2

Oh no don't sell it mate after all the work you've put in on it:doh I know where your coming from but I would hold onto it & take it off the road for a bit if needed & get a second car just for getting to work & back. I sold my SWB 6 years ago & still regret it like made:doh
