Hi

Can anyone tell me if the terrano 2.7 on a 2003 plate has an intake air sensor or how the car calculates this temp, I've been getting a engine warning light when I've plugged it into my OBD reader I've been getting a P0217#12 for engine over temp however when I've been looking at the live data on the OBD it's showing a IAT of 419 oF so thinking this may be my problem, but I'm not sure which sensor is giving the car this info??? Thanks in advance

The IAT connection will not be fitted to th MAF on your motor, its a 5 pin connector and only 4 are used. The unused connnection would be for IAT.
so, no, there is no IAT function used or indeed available to the ECU.

Thanks rayF, so when I plug the obd reader into the ECU and use the live data I get an IAT reading of 419 oF is this just an unused function on the terrano. On the girlfriends Micra it's reading about 80 oF which is about the outside temp?

Yes, that's right, unused sensor default value.
Nissan's implementation of OBDII on early Terrano's (and probably other models) was particularly poor, they did just about enough to tick the EU compliance box and no more. Dealers would have continued to make use of the far more useful Nissan Consult diagnostics.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to look looking for my engine warning light issue then. 😖
