Inner Toobes!

My front tyres either have very slow punctures or the Alloy wheels are leaking, which I'ved heard about before!
So, I'm looking for some 215/80 x R15 Tubes.
Can't find any on ebay, anyone know where to find some?????

Well, I just been told I can't have tubes in my Alloys!
3x different Tyre places told me that, so I've booked in to get em took off cleaned and sealed, then tyres checked for punctures before refitting all for £25. not bad I thought?

you are not supposed to run tubes in tubeless tyres as if there is a hole from a previous puncture they say water can get in and rot the reinforcing wires causing a catastrophic failure

a place i go does it for me tho

Also have you tried a can of puncture repair foam, that stuff is great at sealing up this kind of thing

I tried that stuff before, but I couldn't blow tyre up after cos stuff went hard in valves!
I think the clean and reseal will do the trick. Taking Mav in next Tuesday, so let you know.

I had that problem in the past, I had what your having done..remove tyre, clean up rim and reseal.

same here, I have come across this a lot! tyres off, grind the rim clean, bead sealant, and everything is fine :thumb2

I find that when they (garage) hammer the weights on, that can cause the rot to set in, I try to get them to use the stick on weights now.
My mate has just bought a brand new Kia sportage, I like the look of the newer model, his has a nice set of alloys, but they have hammered on tyre weights on the face of the wheels, it looks crap and they are starting to go funny already, I told him to take it back and complain, they should have used stick on weights.

agreed stick on weights on the inside is the way to go! We just had the wheels refurbished on a 2 year old car with less than 25k on the clock all because of hammered on eights on the outside of the rims

If you're doing a lot of off roading then tubes can be well handy . I run low pressure off road and sometimes the tyre gets pushed off the rim. Tube keeps the wind in then :thumbs
On road though it's not "allowed" these days :doh
So do what you're doing, tyres off clean rims and trye seats, reseal and away you go

I run tubes in my off roader, as makeitfit says running soft can push tyre of rim easyer, with tubes not a problem, best not to have them on a road going motor though as nail in a tyre means fast deflation with a tube, tubeless probably results in a slow leak, not always though, Rick

Ive got tubes in my rears with Amazon mud tyres 80 / 20 never had a problem. i go to a local 4x4 tyre fitter and he supplies them for £20 fitted

till you get a screw in your tyre on a motorway, with a tube it will not self seal and go flat very quick, with a tubeless most times screw stays in so deflation is slower, Rick

I bought a set of part worn tyres and whilst in my boot on the way home my cordless drill has worn a lovely 6mm hole through one tyre about 1/2" from the sidewall so a nogo for a repair :doh im running a tube in that as its going to save me the price of a nearly new tyre.

I run with this in the quad bike tyres as they are really low pressure and lose air quite quickly when off road.
It's good stuff but you need quite a bit to do all 4 tyres on the truck.

I have used similar, in my daughter's bicycle tyres, every month I was repairing punctures, but after adding this into the inner tube of the bike tyre, it has never deflated. The slime was still liquid 5-6 years on.

Having fitted slime or similar, I guess your tyre replacement place will want to charge you a cleaning fee.:doh

The puncture repair spray cans though, don't recommend using it as a permanent repair. So are the preventative ones a permanent fix, as you will never know if you get a puncture?

What causes annoying slow punctures are hawthorn hedge clipping thorns, down the country lanes.
The tractors spray the clippings all over the road, and leave it there for cars to spread it into the verges, or to take it away fixed to your tyres...:doh
Damn criminal and neglectful damage in my opinion, but proving it is something else.

i am a biker and tour alot in europe and getting stuck in the middle on nowhere with a flat tyre is not good i do carry electric tyre inflater and plugs and can fix a bad flat at the road side if need be.

all my training school bikes have slime in them almost never have a problem and i change my own tyres when there worn out
