with ref to earlier threads on injector springs on number 1 pot, would this account for me now having to use manual throttle every time i start up? even in summer? ticks over like its missing until warm and very lumpy. or could it be just a general problem? al usual things (banjo filter etc) done
 
Do you mean the recent lift sensor threads? In which case they aren't relevant to your truck only the later TDi ones which don't have a hand throttle. Have you tried checking/changing your glow plugs?
 
choke lever!!

Must be a Mistral thing as i need to pull mine (go for it!!) out just a little to increase the tickover until warm or I forget and the truck is hard to stop.

new glow plugs filter etc. never did it 6 months ago but now wont tick over when first started even in summer! dont know if i need injectors checked? can you get that done?:nenau
 
Yes you can have them checked for pattern and output. Pattern should e good and outputs sould all be similar so the engine runs smoothly. Not too expensive. Look in yellow pages or yell for local diesel specialists.

Have you tried adjusting the tickover.

when i first had mine it would tickover at about 1100rpm when warm and in neutral.

Had the tickover adjusted at the pump (now slightly low if anything until warm) but it was cured

had the old girl about 5 yrs now and its only in the last 6 months its needed more throttle to start and tick over. for the first couple of minutes she rattles a bit as well.engine rattles but stops when warm
 
Just for my benefit, do we mean 'hand throttle' or 'manual choke' here?
