Injector pump overhaul

As some of you might have read on my Patrol Y61 thread, I have some problems with my injector pump.

The issue being that no diesel comes out at the delivery end. I get diesel up untill the fuel cut solenoid and the overflow but cranking the car does not produce any fuel at the outlet.

I have tried every option available (gravity fuel feed or pressurizing the fuel so that it is positively fed to the injector pump) yet nothing seems to help.

To rule out a pump malfunction I would like to have the pump tested on a testbench and if required repaired and adjusted.

The pump has not run for 9 months now so it might have seized up.

Who can recommend a good place that services Diesel Injector Pumps in the South East?

So far I have found Thomas Auto's (Ashford) and Kent Diesel Centres (Maidstone) being slightly closer to me.

but preferably I would like to go somewhere that has been recommended.

might be worth putting a temporary +12 volts to the fuel cut off solenoid, could be simply a poor connection?

Thanks BIGSEAN :thumb2, cut out solenoid is shot to pieces. When they installed the solenoid they tightened the nut that holds the electrical connection so hard that it broke when I wanted to remove it.

Solenoid has been removed, the solenoids inside mechanism has been removed and then the solenoid is replaced. i.e. with no working parts. So fuel should go through.

Hi from reading your note -it to me sounds in afect you are putting fuel straight in to inj pump the only problem to me is that means should the truck be left in gear and it moves then it COULD start up with OUT the ing being on !!??just ioncase you had not thought as your main aim is to get it started .
And may not think till its too late

Thanks Cleangreenm/c :thumb2, it is certainly something I have thought about. No battery in the truck unless I am working on it. Handbrake applied and big concrete blocks in front and behind the wheels.
