Well it looks like i am going to get rid of my van as i now have grandchild ....the wife has said she want something with more seats

So were now looking @ a X -TRAIL :nenau

I did the same thing and for similar reasons but I bought a LWB T2. I t depends what you use your van for i suppose :nenau

T2 has more off-road ability and has a better diesel engine. Petrol X-Trails are rather pleasant and much more car-like. X-Trail diesels are a bit prone to either noisiness (early ones) or turbo/fuelling issues (later Renault-joint developed unit).

own x trai dci sve 2.2 deisel have had car 6yrs only had one problem fuel valve cost £800 non nisan garage 0ne years guarantee ok for 5yrs no problems gets me everywher.

My neighbor had the 2.2 version and it was poo. He bought it through a stealer (luckily) as it was back in for a service in weeks, Then again a few weeks later. Smoked like a battleship :augie
We did blank off the egr after that and it was better for a while until the limp mode bug got it :doh
So he took it back to another stealer and pt/ex it pretty dam quick
S/H knowledge but not good.

update

i have news boys .... it looks like iam going to buy swb 3l with seats :augie rather than an X-TRAIL ( AS THE REPORTS I HAVE DONT SOUND VERY GOOD )

anyway i went to glasgow today to have alook at a T2....and what a pile of sh*t :sly the guy said on the phone its was in good condition but it was far from it ...he had a cheek asking £4900 on a 54 plate !!

but all is not lost i am going down south on sunday to have alook @another one :augie so fingers crossed:naughty

IF i buy it my VAN will be up for SALE :lol
