I am designing a circuit to keep the engine running without the key in the ignition.
I have it all worked out except the immobiliser. Does it detect the key chip other than at engine start. Has anyone any experience of this?

at times I need to leave the engine running to charge batteries and run additional loads when I am some distance from the truck. it will be interlocked so it can't be moved without the key being in.

I have designed it to interlock with the handbrake. You will only be able to activate the override with the key in, engine running and the handbrake on.
how are you going to detect that the key is not in? Rick
