i'm confuzzeled! i thought my matrix had went due to the passsenger floor being soaking wet! but checked trhe floor 2day and its bone dry!? still got water in the expansion tank too?

any ideas?

incontinent passengers ? :augie

check bulkhead too , sometimes water gets in through grommets , but sunroof is a well known problem , look in downloads for fix :thumb2

Sunroof drains into the sill. If the front of the sill is full of mud and road crap , it wont drain out. Behind the mud flap at the end of the sill there's a drain point, I bet yours is growing tatties :lol
It could also be the seal on top of the heater motor, as that gets the drain water from the bonnet area and falls right on top of it. Silicone is your friend here. Check out the search function, this has been done loads :thumbs

yeah it proby will be cos i've neva checked it, its only on passenger side tho, but hopefully its an easy fix

could be where the heater fan is under the dash behind the glove box, sometimes the foam insulating goes fuzzy around the blower fan and water gets in, it happend to mine and i had to replace the fan and housing, someone on here will know what what i'm rambling on about:augie

Exactly, and as it's on the near side that's probably what it is. Silicone is still your friend :D

Silicone, it does everything from hoses to sealants to breast implant thingymabobs :) and also..... Never mind:sly

get that mud dug out of your sill first. open passenger door, right at the front right at the bottom, dig out the mud

I use a hose to blast the crap out (watch out for the hose pipe ban though):augie, less chance of scraping the paint off, and once the mud is soft, it flows out of the area much easier.
I also removed the front mud flaps and peeled back the lower wing shields, this give you good access to the area where the muck collects, when clean and dry, dose it with waxoil or similar:thumb2

As suggested clean the mud out from the bottom of the front door pillar/inner wing area.

Also sunroof drain pipe comes off sometimes from the sun roof frame area.

also the pastic grill panel that the wipers poke through, behind that on the passenger side there is a square shaped panel that leaks. Remove panel and seal it back in place.

Worst case is where the inner wing is spot welded to the bulkhead tends to rust. Mine rusted through and leaked. Took a really good friend from here to weld it for me but I'm guessing it would of been very costly if a garage had fixed it for me. I'll be forever gratefull to him for that welding job:clap.

the wing did have a hole in it till it was filled not long ago! Never thought of that, but will blast out sill bits when I remember n i'm no gettibg pestered by kids or pets!

No need 2 watch a hose pipe ban tho cos I'm in Scotland n we neva get hose pipe bans :clap
