Been struck down with what was a mystery illness for past 2 weeks.

Had really bad chest for about a year, but more so in last 4 months. Anyway, started getting joint pains worse than ever and ankles and wrists swelled up. Basically became bedridden and after chest X-rays and blood tests they think its this :

Should be ok in the long term after I get over this bout but it means I'm going to have to leave the building trade as I cannot practically ensure that I stop breathing wood/building dust. I wear dust masks but as anyone in trade knows you can't walk around for 10 hours a day with a dust mask on, its just not practical.

Hopefully going to return to the motor trade working part time for a mate back on the spanners, as the dust is nothing like in a garage as it is in a house ya smashing to bits. Will be a bit rusty tho after 10 years off motors, but I did 7 years so hoping its going to be like riding a bike ... :nenau :augie

ouchy, that's not nice pal, hope you get on the mend soon!!

ouch! well hope you recover soon, might be rusty but not worth your health to stay in building trade if thats the issue

get yourself a window cleaning round and breath that fresh air!
My previous jobs were very nasty and very detremental to anyones health.
I will suffer for it i think.
get well soon mate.

Unfortunately I've been mostly bed ridden. Went for a coffee with my mum last thursday and the next day I couldn't stand up. If I do anything more than walk around the house then I'm on my arse, its pretty grim tbh and getting me down. anyway I've got an appointment with the consultant today so will hopefully know exactly what's wrong with me and what the outlook is.
