right took the plunge as the car was getting worse and took out all the injectors and had them tested and the needle in injector no1 was stuck open and the other 3 were not great so they are getting new nozles for £48 +vat each they tested the needle lift sensor and the resistance was what it should be and he said when they fail 99% of the time if resistance is ok then sensor is fine (how true is this) the rod for sensor was freely moving as well:thumbs so if the main needle was stock open then the needle lift sensor would not see the injector working so hense the rough running at idle hope this is the case will no by wed as thats when i get the injectors back:thumb2

one other thing it flew through mot last week strange with the injector the way they were:D

no sorry think again, if a nozzle was stuck open, two things happen, one that cylinder is injected with raw fuel (squirted in not atomized, so it will not burn hardly at all) and when it does burn it will push air back into the injector pipe so reducing the fuel on next firing, there is no way it would have passed emissions in that condition, just a point to note, Rick

Are you sure the emissions were tested at the MOT ? each time I have mine MOTd I am told seven seater's don't need testing, I have said this before and posters have said that is rubbish,
But last month I used a new MOT station, the tester had just done the testers course in Leeds and the supervisors course in Bristol, I asked when booking the test should I refit the rear 6/7 seats and he said " it depends whether you want the emissions testing, seats no test, no seats then the test will be done. regards bri

dont no about that i was there and they did the test but i did not have the rear seats in so it was a 5 seater:nenau

I have seven seats in my Vauxhall Zafira, which are always in the 'up' position, and the emissions are tested every year.
