Ok without being too personal about peoples property.
I don't know about you lot but I wouldn't like to try and find the money to replace my truck again.
I don't do fianance (cant lol)
So in the last 7 months Ive found the money to buy it,do all the repairs and do a few upgrades not to mention the time Ive spent rolling around underneath it.(I don't know how I did that)
my truck was very expencive at 2.4k (wrong time of year to buy)
and I must of spent 2k on it so far and plan on a lot more as it comes in..
so far it owes me 4.5k and it would probably be worth 1800 if I sold it(not going to happen).
so Im thinking of buying these
261009954418
to protect my investment
reckon they are any good?
sorry don't know how do a linky thingy

Well, my truck cost £550...don't think the dealer knew what he had:naughty and I will have spent close to 3k on it, Dont care as ain't selling:D

I don't care if my truck ends up costing 20k I aint getting rid of it...
that doesn't mean im scared to break it.
but I don't want no jealous git doing damage in my drive..

Also how easy are these to pinch?
I mean I will be leaving it in some isolated locations..
can some one nick it?
I know it has an alarm but theres never any one around to hear it?
is the imobiliser up to the job?

£3.5k as it stands including £2200 for buying

Tyres cost most, got rims for £20 :D

Rear shocks were £100 and water pump was £70

Rest I begged and stole, and I've made all the mods from cheap eBay stuff

That's after 16 months ownership and all servicing etc

OK yours is a 2001 model so it will have NATs 2, to my knowledge cannot be by passed, but that would not stop someone putting it on a trailer, but then they still have to get round nats 2 it can be done of course with the dealers computer and the correct info but is the average thief going to have that info, nats one on the other hand is fairly easy to do once you have access to the immobiliser, we had to do it on Primera's for banger racing as we wanted to use carbs etc, but the nats 2 we had to keep all the kit including of course the key and switch which die hard banger racers hated, Rick

pretty much hard to pinch unless your a professional thief then.
I know if someone wants it enough they will have it.
I was asking because I was wondering if I needed to fit a key switch thingy between the starter and battery or some thing to make it more difficult

no point without a matching chiped key then 3 start attempts and it will lock out then even you with the correct key will not be able to start it, and your key will need to be re addressed with the immobiliser, but I guess that just maybe it could be possible to readdress another key if you have the equipment, Rick

my mind is at rest.
still thinking about the cameras on my drive though.
Ive had people paint strip my car before now.
some one nicked a stereo from my car In broad day light in my drive once (a long time ago but you don't forget these things]
and I got burgled 18 months ago
lovely place to live though:lol

lets just say a council estate in the midlands.
the amount of times ive thought about selling up sticking my 50k equity in the bank and renting somewhere. preferably in the sticks.
but rent is stupid money and ive only got ten more years to pay up
so here I stay

£7.7k for Foxy (Y61 '54 3.0TDI Patrol) back in March (including 6 months warranty)

£590 for 5 General Grabber AT's

£15 for HD 12N&S sockets and new bracket

£70 for rear step and jaw hitch

Wouldn't get rid of her for the world (certainly couldn't afford her again at the moment!) and plan to have her for a few years!

Had a '95 2.8TD LWB Shogun before and have wanted a Y61 since reading a comparison of a Disco 3, Mk3 Shogun, Y61 Patrol and a Jeep Commander in Total 4x4 and reading the T4x4 roadbooks :augie

£3650 for the truck
£540 for tyres
£800 for diesel pump
£350 for clutch
£120 for water pump and new belts
£180 for injectors to be refurbished
£180 for two new front shocks
£110 for window tints
£65 for body lift kit
£40 for diagnosis
im sure there's a few bits ive missed and still abit more that needs spending on it.
ive never had much luck with motors, thinking about it I should have sold and brought another one really with less miles on it
