how do you check the fault codes on a 2000 reg 2.7tdi, evidently the plug is different from the picture in the down loads, and we are not sure how to check, :nenau can anyone help??:doh

bloody hell, dont anyone know how to read the codes on a year 2000 t2, or is the plug different from an early model??

Have you got the 16pin OBD connector in the fuse panel drivers side or something else???

im trying to help out sidsid06, i explained about the codes but he tells me his plug seems different to mine (1998) i did't think they changed the plugs, so what i need to know is are there 2 different plugs on these trucks, :thumbs

I thought the majority of vehicles from about 96 onwards are fitted with the standard OBD-II socket that Timbo refers to....whats he trying to connect to it Terry?

i passed on the download and he told me his plug is different which through me off to be honest, i'll see if he is on here.

Is the connector 14 pin or 16 pin?

When you can bring yourself to look at it, make a drawing of which holes in the socket actually have contacts in them, there may only be half a dozen or so.

Have a 00 2.7TDI T2. Just had a look at the diagnostics connector. It's a 14 pin connector I'm assuming. But to look at it looks different to the one shown in the downloads section. Mine actually looks like it has 7 vertical slots as opposed to the image in the downloads sections that looks as if it has 14 horizontal slots. But I am assuming that the top and bottom of each of the 7 vertical slots actually represents a corresponding top and bottom horizontal slot on the download diagram. And that the three blocks of 2 vertical slots each on mine are the three blocks of four horizontal slots on the download and the one block with one vertical slot is the block with two horizontal slots on the download. Hope this is not just stating the obvious or utterly confusing everything.

well you have confused me mate, :augie:lol

I would take a pic but it's too dark outside. In short my connector looks like it has 7 vertical slots where the pic in the download looks like it has 14 horizontal slots.

This would be a 14 pin connector arrangement, mark the boxes with contacts in....

Got the kids wind up torch and went out to take a pic afterall. That's what mine looks like in the dark. Bet that clears up any confusion::augie

ok its a 14 pin which is cool as i only have to convert 3 pages, if it was 16 pin then 60 pages lol.

this is taken from autodata.

i had to upload to megaupload, file size is only 316kb and i put as a PDF file if that is ok

Filename: terrano 2 (r20) 2.7d turbo 1999-..pdf
File description: terrano 2 (r20) 2.7d turbo 1999-07 14 pin without EOBD (p codes)

sidsid06, that's not being a pain. I only posted the photo thinking that the plug might in reality look a little different from the neat diagrams in the download. If your's looks more like the pic rayf3262 posted that would seem to make life easier because that would seem to be what it's supposed to look like.

hi.just taken a pic of mine and will to try and upload it for all to see:thumbs
