Well as some of you may have read yesterday I took my T2 back to the battery supplier where he drop tested the battery. I'm very worried that he has some how power surged the ABS Control Unit (hope it's not the ECU), the doors did lock them selves at one point. Ever since then the ABS has been hissing, it isn't just when braking it can be when moving slowly and giving a bit of gas to speed up. The ABS light does not come on at all. I'm going to try disconnecting the battery overnight to see if this resets it.

Has anyone else got any ideas?

The ABS pump on my wifes T2 is knackered and if the ABS cuts in when braking in the wet/mud it keeps making a noise for a while afterwards (more of a grinding than a hissing though) - have you tried to make the ABS activate by braking hard in the wet to see what noises it makes then?

Def the same hissing that you get when the ABS cuts in under braking. Well the battery is disconnected and has been since about 7:30. I'll just have to see what tomorrow brings. If this doesn't work then I'll have to check the sensors for broken wires but the last time mine did that the ABS light came on. I really wish that I had not bothered taking the battery back or at least taken it in the boot of the other car.

Eh? Shouldn't hiss Jim; I've had a Mav and two T2s (two of them from new) and all were/are the same, when ABS kicks in theres just a moderately loud grinding noise (like a coffee grinder) to match the grinding sensation you get through your foot....if its 'hissing' somethings afoot I'd say....

Well disconnecting the battery hasn't reset anything:(

I have to say it seems similar to when my NS sensor went just after buying it. How do I remove the sensr to look at it and it's wiring?
