clivvy i have been told ou can have the diesel put on a laptop at feather diesel ( elland) for about £50 and they will tell you whats wrong with it and the cost for them to wright the wrong.. mine will be going soon as im getting a black cloud behind me when it gets the beans:(

sounds good that Martin, i know a MOT guy AND a mechanic in Elland too, so i might call in after holiday and see what Feather Diesel say, where about s are they??

no Martin, BUT hes very good, and I trust him so pop in. He does Saturdays too. £35 he passed mine when other mech failed it, only one advisory, watched him do it too. Othe rmech failed my hadbrake, 15%, watched Tony do it, on the machine, was perfect, held well.

my idle issue was down to diesel pump and vacuum comes off a little pump below diesel pump if u trace pipe work carefully hope this helps
 
i dont think ill bother clivvy as i think my usual ones not to strict normaly. he passed me with a nackered ball joind on the merc and blue tintet headlight bulbs on the saab.. i did once hae a calibre go to a garage in keighly and it passed with a petrol leek and 2 illigal tyres:D

because of how much this little niggle is bothering me, im going to take it to a diesel specialist so long as they say they CAN trace the problem, and if i can afford it. then, if i manage to fix the issue, two new front shocks, and thats it, job jobbed, nack all wrong with the car other than this. Ill then treat it to a clean engine bay, sort out the rust on the front wheel arch above the trim and paint the bumpers, be like a new car by then!
