Seriously awesome! I wished we had weather like that :lol

could do with some of that sun ah well must through some logs on the fire:thumbs

Yeh folks it is 28 degrees here every day, really nice. i put a jacket on in the morning then have to carry it home at night as it is so hot. and i get to start early when it is cool at 06:30 but get out at 15:00 so happy days.

whats the four tubes for on the bull bar :nenau rocket launching tubes:lol

yeh they are P23 SS Kangaroo Stun Grenade launchers lol they are for holding fishing rods you put the base in and the grove is for the reel and the rods then bend and attache to the roof rack, would not be allowed in the UK as it obscures vision but the ozzies get away with alot. probably because the cops are in the pub lol

if you look closely at the bull bar there are 2 small black cone shaped things they are air whistles, (picture 1 and 2 right next to the main vertical bar) like a dog whistle, when you move it scares off animals so you dont mash them with the bull bar lol

new windscreen this weekend.... not bad fully fitted for 177 Pounds (ozzy keyboards dont have the pound sign :doh)

Oh and an old chap pulled up when I was playing with my truck and offered his for sale so mu house mate brought it lol

Not bad for $1200 – fully registered and good to roll for 6 months, has an oil leak but it is just the oil filter seal that has perished so happy days, not as mad as mine but will do the job (automatic)

oh and may have spoken to soon, we did an oil change last night on this and it is still leaking, we thought it was the oil filter but it must be coming from somewhere else.

fingers crossed can be solved.

cheers for the comments folks great to see people are looking at my stuff.

The transfer box in the lump on the back of the gearbox, theres a drain plug on both gear and transfer box, they are on the bottom, and the filler plugs are usually on the side, the oil type is GL4, SX75W-90

here's a thread i done about filling the gearbox

http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16552

and here's one of what the gearbox and transfer box look like, so youll have an idea of where the transfer box is

ignore me lol i got it sorted

the noise is form the transfer box and after checking the oil it came out like metallic pain, i read up in this and i am told that it must have been in there for ages.

The oil is supposed to my changed every 40 thousand miles. :thumb2

thanks folks.

i have got the oil to change went for 75w85w they said that that would do the job, it is castorl and is recommended as the oil to go for and is the closest i can get over here. The gearbox oil is fine so was going to top that up but the oil may be different weights and dont want to mix them or will that be ok?

see what happens, i am going to get some of that stop noise box additive and see if that solved the problem, fingers crossed all will be well. think the chat before me put GL5 in that would explain the colour of the oil.

cheers again

well dropped the oil and it was fine, i cant understad it, i flushed it out and got the new oil in,

still got the problem i had before.

the best way to descrive it is a ..drum drum drum drum drum noise when in 1st and 2nd and this gets louder when in 1st or 2nd and slowing down??:nenau

i might top up the gear box oil aswell.

it had a new clutch fitted recently maybe it could be that playing up, i got under and the noise seems to be coming from the transferr box but i cant be sure.

it drive 100% and i am really happy with it but still not happy with the noise it makes. sterange how this noise is bothering me even thought the car runs sweet.

driving me mad lol

thanks for the help

noise from 1st and 2nd indicates a bearing on the main shaft, wont be the transfer box as only used in 4 wheel, if it was the lay shaft it will do it in all gears bar 4th, changing the oil will do nothing, you have a box problem, drive it till it breaks, could well go on for years, or could pop next week, who knows, Rick

erm I think it must be gearbox as the T/B wont be very busy in 2wd :thumbs

hay solarman

thanks for the info, it sounds like it is doing it in the higher gears as well but that could be my imagination, is there anything i can do to prolong its life or is it best to do as you say and just drive it till it pops?

thanks for the advice folks

yes if it is lay shaft it will go quite in top (4th) as no load on it at all, as input and output shafts locked together in a straight line, no nothing you can do bar strip the box and replace whatever is worn, my own motor had a whine from lay shaft when I bought it 2 years ago it is still there and still going strong and I tow regular over two tonnes did stick some stuff in it a while back supposed to sort noises but no different, waste of time, but I have a spare box for when I need it, but then I am like that got the makings of 3 spare engines as well, Rick

Now your just showing off Rick. :lol

I know, but you have not seen my barn 45ft x20ft full to the brim can hardly walk in it, plus other buildings as well, one day I will have a massive sell off, ut for the mo no time, Rick

that makes sense, the noise is there in all gears now apart from 4th, and it sounds like a rotational grinding noise, i read about 4th gear being stong as it is in a straight line and as you say if the noise goes away in 4th then it must be the bearings.

thanks for the help folks.

went here the weekend: http://rtra.asn.au/where/lancelin place called Lancelin, you can drive for miles in the dunes. it is amazing and you can drive on the beach for miles.

will get some pics up shortly - dont hate me too much :thumb2
