Hi Jim T

Where did you get your 88 degree thermostat if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks

I have a new 88 degree stat that i don't need if anyone wants to buy it. It cost £16. I bought it because my heating wasn't getting warm, when i went to change the stat there wasn't one in so i tried it with 82 degree and its working great so the 88 degree one is not required. pm me if you want it.

Thanks for the new stat Bobmog, fitted it this morning (me fingers, ears & nose were close to dropping off it was that cold ) took it for a blast up the M62 (up to 5,000 revs and cleared all the black smoke). What a result! warm as toast and as Tezzer said i had to open a window.:thumb2 also no more black crap blowing out the back when i accelerate.
Whoo Hoo!:D

Also suffering from a poor heater, takes an age to warm up. going to have a look at the pollen filter in the morning. will a new one make make a difference. and where do i buy one
from?T

Thanks Wayne

If the temp gauge is slow to move up to full running temp when on the move, then change the thermostat.

Hi is this a straight forward job to do ,do you need a gasket etc as my 03 T2 takes at least 1/2 to get warm and is there a part no for the thermostate
Thanks Ady

Dead easy to do on the 2.7, no idea on a 3litre as I've not really seen under bonnet. Have a look at this http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/downloads/workshop/wk11.pdf

A gasket came with my stat, as it was an after market version there is no part number as such but most motor spares shops will have catalogues listing the 82 and 88 degree models.

This said it is still a good idea to change the pollen filter.

The 88 degree has worked fine for me and the last time I heard from Toolbox he had used one for a couple of years with no problems too.

Newbie with luke warm heater

Hi,
Just bought a 2003 3ltr Terranolast month. Found that it had a problem as it ran just on the red - heater was good. Garage found rad was US and fitted a new one. Temp gauge now sits at middway - rock solid but interior heater is luke warm although pipes passing through bulkhead are hot.
I suspect an air lock in heater matrix but how do I clear this??
Any help please??
Paul:confused:

I'd be tempted to think about a pollen filter too, see the download in quick links.

id start by taking rad top off and giving the bottom pipe a squish.. might push through the air..

i also think it's the pollen filter, worth changing anyway, and cost is around £10. :thumb2

When I owned a t2, I attempted to remove the pollen filter, previous owned had removed and not replaced and that's the way it stayed.
