head bolt order?

Hello, lil' old me again.

anyone here have the correct order for bolting on the head?

I found the torque settings on here:

step 1: 39-44Nm
step 2: 54-59Nm
step 3: 90* turn

but no mention of the bolt order, should i just start from as far middle as i can, then work out clockwise?

thank you for answering my question. will start doing the job this Friday.

one more question, do i need to spend much time to worry about timing ect when taking the head off? or what else needs to come off other than the intercooler and items over the rocker?

When I did Pajeros, damn near half the engine needed to come off when taking the head off, and timing could be a real issue.

No this is a push rod engine no timing involved, but do look at the pads on the rockers most likely some if not all will be worn so feelers to set the gap is not an option, if you have one that is not worn then mark it and set the gap with feelers on this one then remove the feeler and note the turn amount to close the gap then set the rest this way, I cannot remember if it is half or quarter turn, oh and these are streach bolts so you realy ought to replace them olthough I did not always, there is a measure ment on length and if still within limits its OK to reuse them, another tip if you do replace them is saw the head of off two and screw them in to the block a few turns not too far or you will not have enough to get hold of the get them out, but makes placing the head a lot easyer otherwise you scrape about trying to locate on the dowls, but make sure the two holes chosen in the head are completely clean otherwise debris could be disturbed to fall onto the nice new gasket, Rick
