Has been a difficult time; F in Law had a stroke, then another massive one, finally passed away in hospital, late at night, whilst I was sitting with him. Breaking the news to my wife, his wife & daughters must be one tof the hardest things I've ever done.

I haven't had much opportunity or inclination to play with cars or read forums...
This evening, it was fantastic to nip out and drive a couple of easy local lanes :) The old Whaley and Macc roads.

Genuinely sorry to hear about that, Thats happened to us last year just before xmas the mother in law had a stroke, went into hospital and died as a direct result of complications in Feb.

If you want to chat drop me a pm or email :thumb2

really sorry to hear of your loss, having a bad time myself chat soon :thumbs

Very sorry to hear of your loss. My sympathies are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear of your families loss, hope today was a turning point for you and you can all now start rebuilding again.

Jim

Thanks to you all for the kind words.
I'm ok really, it's trying to look after everyone else and work out what needs to be done that's hard.

sorry to hear this Ian, very sad news. I hope you and your family are doing as well as can be expected. Where are those pictures taken from?

Sure you could cope with them Briggie. Time allowing, I'm trying to explore a few lanes that can be combined into a circular route. All easy ones as my T2 is standard and still on road tyres, plus I don't have any friends with 4x4s (aside from on here!) so I'm likely to be driving them alone and cautiously.

From the Goyt Valley, Clivvy.

id love to join you for a drive along that route ian , perhaps a few of us could get together for a drive there , stop for some nosebag etc and chinwag ?

the tyres on my mistral are bridgestone duellers h/t so that route looks ok for me , plus i have to consider what happens if i get stuck off road if you see what i mean , but yep a plan in the making , anyone wanna join us ?

well, i'm up for it if you dont mind me tagging along. The peaks are about 1 hour 30 mins from me, so pleasent enough drive out. Would be nice to have a relaxed trip off road and meet some of you!

i've got cheapskate KingPins on mine, but they are 50/50 so should have no trouble.

You'd be more than welcome mate.

Which Kingpins have you got on? Was thinking I might put some on mine, or Insa Turbos.
I think I'll be on the Avon Ranger 70 road biased rubber for a littlewhile yet as any available car budget needs to go on addressing a few other problems first.

Very sorry to hear about your loss, Ian. You're a decent man for being with him in the end.

Glad to hear that you got to take the Terrano out for a spin later. :thumb2

All the best to you, mate.

Dave

I have had them a while now, obviously not done many miles, but I have found them to be pretty good for cheap tyres. Have run them in snow, very wet and slippy dirt track, performed pretty good in all (especially snow)

ive got kingpins on at the mo.. very happy with them.. grate in snow and mud

hmm..sounds like I made a reasonably good choice then, may be worth a serious consideration then, Ian.
