Has anyone got a samsung galaxy s3?

Whats you opinion of it?

Before anyone states the obvious yes I know its an old phone!

I missed the S3 . I went S2 to S4 as I read at the time the S3 was bit of an inbetweener. Can you go to the S4 ?
S5 much the same, no big change from S4 .
Now I'm just waiting for the S6 to land , mmmmmmagic :D
Back to the point , what do you need to know ?
Plenty of real tech data on "Phone Arena" :thumbs

My S3 has been slow since not long after getting it and got slower and slower. Even factory reset doesnt seem to help. Tried adding things slowly to see if I can workout whats doing it but seems to just go slow.
Wife has never really beleived me until other week when she had lost her phone in the car. Tried to call her by going to phone, call logs and her number. It took forever which is the norm.
Not been a good experience of android to be honest, I know you are a fan of droid Pete. Got a s4 for work but that doesnt get any apps on it so no comparison really. That said the s3 hasnt really now other than the samsung bloatware. Thinking about letting my son root it to see if its any better and after that bin it.

unlock it, root it then put cyanogenmod on it, it will be infinitely better.

Had 2 x S3 (1 drowned......mea culpa!) Had no problems with speed or performance, and it is used as a mobile office.... got an S3mini as UK phone.....no problems there either......although I will agree that the volume if bloatware is appalling, if I knew how to root it, I would and clear the crap off it......:nenau

Yep had mine for 2 years, bough a cheap shock case too. It used to do easily 900 pictures at a time then start slowing up with lots of videos. Loads of greet apps, difficult to first get used to compared to the Sheepy iphone, baaaaaa.

But yeah, very much like a pc, very customisable, and a great phone! :bow

Sounds like a problem, the only thing I did when I gave it to my mum was replace the battery :thumb2

My wife got an S3 16GB a couple of months ago & TBH it seems fine to be & quick doing things:thumb2 just got myself an S4 mini old'ish phone I know but it'll do me for what I need plus contract is a great price on it

Hi Sweety well the s3 is older than the s4 mini, just mine has never been a good phone. My contract is up in a couple of months and im thinking about just getting a 30 day rolling contract with my current provider. Im leaning towards an iphone. Theyre easy to use but so are android really. Itll be compatible with my ipad. The storage is accessible from android but not on apple, but thinking about it when was the last time i needed the space and what would I store. People talk about android being customisable, how many people truly understand that statement? Only thing putting me off iphones are the prices.

Iphone 6 or go home. The others have no battery life to speak of in comparison to most others. Buying s/h is worse as you can't get at the battery out of the iphones I don't think. As said before you must have some issue with the S3, shame you didn't hassle your contract provider about it.
Storage is to be fair less of an issue these days as you can stream your sounds and cloud store most things. So all you need is enough onboard storage for your apps .
I prefer the free world offerings of android over apple but acknowledge their phone's quality.
Still, S6 for me , hurry hurry :D
I've just got the wife a Talk Talk sim £3.50 a month with bonkers texts, data and more minutes than even she could possibly manage :lol

Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini

My wife and I have the s3 Mini we find it suits us just fine and will not change until they die.
When my contract ends this year I will keep it and revert to a SIM only contract.

That's not always the case if the Ipad & phone were made in the same year they will connect to each other but if there is a couple of years difference between them there is a high chance the won't:doh My Father in-law was told all apple products would connect so he bought his PC, tablet & phone over a couple of years & not one of them will connect to each other:doh he then found out it's they needed to be made within a year of each other. Apple stuff is over priced if you ask me & apple stop doing software updates after each item has been on the market for 3 years so you upgrade:doh Know loads who have smashed their Iphone screens where people with other makes don't suffer no where near as bad. Lost my temper with my samsung galaxy ace:eek: & chucked it full pelt at the stairs & all I had to do was put the battery back in & put the battery cover back on, not a mark on the phone & screen is fine:thumbs:lol:lol

Did it fix it ? :lol

Theres defo a lot of loyalty towards Android on here thats for sure.

Will battle on a little longer with my S3 because Ive got a couple of months left on my contract. Maybe my S3 has a fault but Im defo not impressed by it and hold no loyalty to either os. Dont want a windows phone thats for sure.
