Oh by the way Rick, I collected the exhaust today but didn't get any of the mounting rubbers, do you need any?

Just an update, the running problems are still tobe resolved, I have beenona steep learning curve re this engine, and none of the items addressed have sorted it, it really is begining to look like pump, but no fault codes, but that maybe because the pump has its ownprocessor and may not be talking to the ECU, still reaserching, Rick

Sorry Rick haven't had a chance to check that stuff out for you yet but I would try speaking to some of the Aussie's on the patrol4x4.com or the nissanpatrol.au forums as those guys know about the zd30.

I hope that you all know that I appreciate any help that can get this motor back to working condition.
I feel sorry for poor Rick as he is the poor soul left scratching his head all of the time.
I don't suppose anyone has a spare injection pump that we could borrow? Lol worth asking

Just out of interest, if I found a new/used pump, would this have to be coded to the vehicle???

Have a look around diesel bobs web site.
Some info there about the vp44 pump, maybe worth calling them Monday Rick.

you will need the ECU and the NATS from the same motor as well as the key/blip, or yes another pump can be coded at Nissan cost, Rick

It just gets better and better!
Hopefully Monday might yield more fruitful with some phone calls.
Is it definatly a Bosch vp44 pump? Any chance when you have a spare moment on getting me the number off of the pump just to confirm the type.
We really need a confirmed diagnoses that it's the pump.
Wonder if the veg oil did this

As far as I can see the spill valve is the part of the return path to the main tank, as such it purpose may be something to do with maintains the internal pump pressure?
Which makes me wonder if the delivery pressure from the tank pump is low or marginal?

Tank pump? thought it was only the petrols that had those, will check it out, as I read on one of the forums about someone fitting an electric pump before the filter, Rick

No tank pump in the 3 Rick. I am having similar problems wondering whether fitting an inline pump would help? I did have my overflow valve out the other day and it did not feel very strong. Was looking too pick one up on Monday, if I get it I will let you know if it makes a difference. I've been chasing this fault for a month praying its not the pump.

any idea what pressure to go for? I remember seeing something on one of the other forums about fitting an electric pump, think 30 psi was mentioned but my memory is not good so not sure, Rick

Bits I've seen regarding the VP44 pump overflow valve are 14/16 psi opening pressure but not sure how that equates to input pressure. I guess being an ecu controlled pump it will self regulate as to how hard the go peddle is pushed.
