yes know about the box switch, but that only applies to Autos, and no not thinking of blanking the EGR but it may be stuck open which will cause problems, and just found out there is a throttle body vac operated, need to check that out, Rick

Well mines a manual!!

Ah yeah that's why they say fit manual boost controller and guage to stop boost spikes

from what I have read on the subject, it can be done but other mods need doing as well to avoid over temperature on 4 and 5 pistons, a system I do not understand to lower the boost pressure and a Dawes valve???? etc, not having hands on on these motors till now I am on a steep learning curve, Rick

Dawes valve is just a bleed valve you put on actuator and set the boost manually taking control away from ecu as with egr delete can give it a big boost spike. Another mod that's a mist on 3 litre is catch can as inlets get oily and sooty and can block easily melting piston 4. Catch can stops this good right up on patrol forums

You can adjust the stop for the turbo actuator to stop the overboost, that's what I did, saves fitting dawes and needle valve BUT does change the engine characteristics slightly (I prefer it to be honest)

very interesting, I knew about the loss of power in 4th and 5th on the auto but fine on other gears, but yours is manual so loss of power on all gears? Rick

No 1st and 2nd were fine but as soon as it went into 3rd would not rev above 2-2500 rpm. when it was live scanned it showed the n pos switch to be flickering. The switch had a very slight flat edge, hardly noticeable, its located on the top offside of the box more accessible from the inside centre consul.

So just replacing with new is all that's needed

Yeah, pulls like a train now, just wish i had got to that first instead of the long way round i took:doh:doh

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm do not think this is Phils problem as it does it when in neutral stationary, Rick
