... so lowered it to the ground and had a look, seems the wall footings are good but the oversite at this point is on nothing as it has sunk by a few mm, so now need to do some serious concreting, pic shows motor def leaning left and post not as it should be, Rick

Wow... the consequences of something giving when you were working underneath....:doh Could have been nasty...

Is there a way you can link both sides underground using an RSJ in a trench, then concrete that in...

No need, in answer to you and Alex re the so called special bolts, what I will do is make a frame with high tensile rod with plate washers on the bottom set at around 200mm into the concrete, similar to what we did on the big shed construction before xmas last year that with a good mix and reo bars set in the mix will be more than enough, Rick

... typical farmers crap construction, Rick

Well it lasted for the application that he intended.:nenau
I take it for granted that my concrete floor in my garage can take the trolly jack and point loadings from my axle stands when I raise my Mav...:augie

yep good point, me being over critical, will take pics as we go, Rick

Sorry peeps, no pics today, gunned it all out, half filled a builders skip with the result and now have the loose stuff and bottom to move, probably fill the skip, 1.8 mtrs wide by 3.9 mtrs long and around 350mm deep but could be deeper depending on what is there, at the moment it is flooded due to the rain and high water table here, plan is to prep it all tomorrow and concrete Friday, around 5 tonnes of ballast and cement, been partying tonight as Mrs birthday and as she is one of triplets had the first ever Do with all three at the same time, Rick

Sounds like you'll be sorted then once all that cement sets! awesome looking ramp that wish i had space for one

Hope you had a good evening partying mate always nice when family gets together my next big gathering is january for my30th then june for my dads 60th should both be good fun lol

just realised I have not reset my camera time so all times are minus one hour, this is Sarah my winch girl helping out, only had a hand rammer and on mud they tend to get a build up so we placed a load of old wall and floor tiles on the surface and thumped it down on those, much better

formers in place with the rag bolts set, fortunately the posts came bolted together head to toe with these frames so perfect for holding rag bolts

forgot to mention there is a second set of mesh at the anchor points set 50 mm from the top, anyway finished this grand task at 12.45 after cleaning tools etc, hard work and shattered now waiting for the Mrs to finish her bath then I am in, and I guarantee this lot will not move, 4.5 tonnes of ballast and 30 bags cement plus reo, all I got to do now is raise the roof in order to gain full height but only by a few inches Rick

Well done Rick, you are dedicated I reckon most would of given up and sold the things. :clap

Woah there's tiles under there ;)

Well done a Rick, looks like you have your work cut out big time!!

I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Let us know how you get on :thumb2

Well Rick, where do you get your energy from?
Working so long day after day.

Great looking project though.:thumb2

I think it's to do with the self employed state of mind :D
When I'm on site fitting my kitchens I don't bother with all that tea break sh1te and do lunch on the hoof, if I bother at all. Work on to 8 or 9pm Week's work done in 3 days :clap
The builders always get the hump at tea times :lol

I could not do that every day! 10am to 12.45am with only one 1 hours break for dinner= 13 hours 45 mins doing strenuous heavy labour, but it had to be done as the high water ingress through the soil would have undermined the existing building, it was just unfortunate that I chose to start the project as we had heavy rain, and have to say I have done absolutely nothing today as the back is feeling it, as makeitfit says self employed = a different attitude to work, I am two years above retirement age so can take it a bit easier, my average day is 10.30 till 5 = 6.5 hours, but like makitfit that is continuous I do not stop, coffee etc all on the hoof, Rick

All up and running, got the off road motor on at the mo, 4 new tyres being fitted, sorted the front brakes, easy up there, rears to do plus winch alternator is bad and connection issues on winch cables, passenger door is a bit out of shape and does not shut, something to do with the tree we slid into on the last outing, Rick

Hey congrats, that's awesome news :clap

Ramp is now looking impressive too

I bet your proud and relieved too :lol

to do brakes not on my knees is fantastic only now got to watch bashing my head, the lift does go around a foot higher which puts the wheels ctr about head height so not too bad, not worth raising the roof for a couple of inches, yep well made up, Rick

Well done Rick , now all you need is one of those chairs on wheels :thumbs
